A Home Tour: 10 Months In

A Home Tour: 10 Months In

If there is one thing I have been grateful for this year, it’s that we have been able to weather Covid in our new home.

We’ve been home owners for nearly 10 months now and although we still have a lot of work to do, I am loving how our space is coming together. Since it has been a while, I thought I would share a bit of a photo diary from our flat so that you can see what it’s looking like these days!

If you make it to the end, I’ve also shared a few things we’ll be working on next, including a slight change to the colour palette, as well as finding a living room rug! Enjoy and feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our flat!

There are a few things we’ll be looking to change as we invest in more decor — the first has to do with the colour palette. When we moved from our previous flat, we brought a floral Anthropologie rug and teal pouffe with us. Initially, I was considering a bolder, brighter palette, but the more we’ve lived in the space, the more I have gravitated to natural, earthy tones and organic textures. Don’t get me wrong, I still plan to include velvet here and there, but floral and teal no longer feel right. We’re a bit short on furniture at the moment, so we won’t be looking to get rid of anything just yet, but it’s helpful to have that sense about the space.

The next big investment we’re looking to make is buying a rug for the living room. My home Pinterest board has a few rugs we’re currently considering if you’d like to check that out, but otherwise we’re looking to keep it interesting, but less colourful than before. There are a few bold, geometric options from Soho Home, which I’m lusting after so watch this space…

Otherwise, we still very much need a coffee table, entertainment centre/sideboard, and an armchair. The living room will then be in pretty good shape at that point and we’ll be able to move onto some of the other less prominent areas. Again, I have Pinterest boards going for each room, so feel free to check those out if you’re curious! I have also pinned all of the main pieces of furniture if you’re curious about shopping any of them!

Thanks so much for reading guys. If you enjoyed this post and would like to see more interiors-focused content, please let me know x
