My Everyday Makeup Essentials

My Everyday Makeup Essentials

I’ve been doing my makeup since I was about 10 years old. Back in those days, I would grab some eyeshadow from my Mom’s makeup drawer, drag it across my eyelids and go off to school with a little extra sparkle.

I’ve learned a lot since then. Namely that there is a reason people have multi-stage makeup routines and application really does make or break a look… But also? It all starts with product and they aren’t all the same.

These are the makeup essentials I swear by.

My taste in makeup has evolved considerably over the last few years. Maybe it’s down to my age and the fact that makeup just doesn’t sit on my skin in the way it once did. Maybe it’s that I just like a different look. Either way, I have gravitated toward makeup that feels and looks lighter on my skin — but not at the expense of hold and staying power.

That’s the one thing I can’t stand — makeup that degrades during the day. And while there are things you can do from an application perspective to help your makeup last longer, product really does make all the difference.

So, with all of that said, these are the products I use day in and day out, from the office to they gym to a casual Saturday on my couch. They are tried and true, daily staples in my routine and the product listed in one I rely on to achieve my favourite glowy makeup look up look that lasts all day.

If you want to find out how I apply these products, you can watch how I do my eyeshadow and how I apply my face makeup.
