An Exciting Career Announcement…

An Exciting Career Announcement…

It’s not everyday you get an entirely unexpected double promotion at work. So you can imagine my shock when I found out last week I was, in fact, getting promoted from Account Director to Associate Director just two months out from my third work anniversary at FleishmanHillard UK.

Now, I don’t often share about my career on social media, despite working in the field, for two main reasons: I find it hard to talk about myself and there’s a part of me that still can’t really believe I am where I am today.

But, as a first generation college student with parents who worked in the trades, I know firsthand how important it is to have the chance to learn from the experiences of those around you. It was observing my peers — their academic practices and pursuits, career ambitions and moves — that opened my eyes to opportunities I didn’t know existed or hadn’t believed were for me.

It’s how I ended up at the University of Colorado Boulder. It’s why I applied to grad school at the London School of Economics. It’s the reason I stayed in London after my master’s. Why I briefly considered pursuing a career as a management consultant before realising I could parlay my interest in social into a career. It’s how I climbed the ladder in my first agency role and why I made the decision to move into the corporate world a few years later. It’s how I ended up working at FH with some of the brightest and kindest humans I know. And it’s the reason I was promoted last week.

Throughout my academic and professional careers, I’ve been surrounded by people who have supported and challenged me, served as role models and advocates, been there to see me through my lows and celebrate my successes. All the while, giving me the gift of their wisdom and experience.

To my fiancé, family, friends, colleagues and classmates, I would not be where I am without you.

To my teammates, I’ve never been prouder to work with such an exceptional group of people.

Thank you.

I am absolutely thrilled to take this next step in my career.
